CAMBODIA

A pilot collaboration between YGAP, Project Futures and the Somaly Mam Foundation was run in 2012 supporting young women to become future leaders through innovative development programs. The 17 women who participated in last years program were all survivors of the hideous sex industry in Cambodia and are now role models and peer educators for a younger generation of survivors.

secondbite

AUSTRALIA

YGAP is helping to support SecondBite’s Food Mate program which gives vulnerable people access to fresh food, educates them on how to best utilise that food, and provides vital links to local community support. Food Mate provides information on budgeting, food safety, food storage, healthy eating, local food access and shopping tips so that upon leaving the program, vulnerable people can source fresh food independently with the aim of ending their food insecurity.

OUR WORLD NEEDS CHANGE

Five cent coins have lost their value in Australia. They are not accepted in parking metres or vending machines, most people wouldn’t even pick one up if they saw it in the street. However, collectively, these coins can create tangible change as there is currently $150 million worth of them in circulation across Australia. In 2012 YGAP launched one of the most innovative fundraising campaigns ever seen in this nation. We asked Australians to start collecting this neglected currency and pass it on to those who needed it most. This campaign is 5cent.
