Five cent coins have lost their value in Australia. They are not accepted in parking metres or vending machines, most people wouldn’t even pick one up if they saw it in the street. However, collectively, these coins can create tangible change as there is currently $150 million worth of them in circulation across Australia. In partnership with Sanejo,YGAP’s Rwanda project is focused on supporting communities in transitioning from war to peace and facing extreme poverty through the promotion of education. The vision is to work together to effectively strengthen tomorrows youth by providing access to educational facilities in Rwanda, and has started with Ntenyo Primary School.
